Dayton () is the sixth-largest city in the state of ohio and the county seat of montgomery county. A small part of the city extends into greene county. The 2017 u.s. Census estimate put the city population at 140,371, while greater dayton was estimated to be at 803,416 residents. The per capita income for the city was $34,724. About 18.2% of families and 23.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 32.0% of those under age 18 and 15.3% of those age 65 or over.
