Estimates for 2017 say that las cruces had a population of 101,712. Its demographics were 34.9% non-hispanic white, 2.6% african american or black, 1.5% native american, 1.7% asian, 0.0% native hawaiian or pacific islander, 2.9%two or more races, 58.6% hispanic or latino of any race. There where 39,809 households with an average household size of 2.49 people per household. Median household income was $40,924, and the percentage of people in poverty was 24.4%.
