Concord () is the capital city of the u.s. State of new hampshire and the county seat of merrimack county. As of the 2010 census, its population was 42,695, and in 2018 the population was an estimated 43,412. Concord includes the villages of penacook, east concord, and west concord. The city is home to the university of new hampshire school of law, new hampshires school, a private preparatory school; nhti, a two-year community college; and the granite state symphony orchestra. As of the census of 2010, there were 42,695 people, 17,592 households, and 10,052 families residing in the city. The population density was 632.5 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the city was 91.8% white, 2.2% black or african american, 0.3% native american, 3.4% asian, 0.0% pacific islander, 0.4% from some other race, and 1.8% from two or more races. 2.1% of the population were hispanic or latino of any race.
